Abstract

The progress of green chemistry in the synthesis of nanoparticles with use of plants has
engrossed a great attention nowadays due to its inexpensive, simple, non-toxic and environmentalfriendly nature. The present study has been undertaken to prepare Azadirachta indica gum stabilized
ZnO nanoparticles with multifunctional properties. The prepared nanoparticles were characterized by
FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM and UV-Vis absorption studies. It was clear from XRD pattern that nanoparticles
were crystallized in hexagonal wurtzite structure. The average size of the nanoparticles was found
to be 30-60nm. The synthesized nanoparticles exhibited potent antibacterial activity against E. coli
and S. aureus.
