Abstract

A preliminary examination was carried out to screen the phytochemical contents, as well as
to determine the proximate composition and antioxidant activity of Abutilon indicum seeds.
Five separate solvent extractions were performed using standard analytical
methods.Qualitative phytochemical screening of Abutilon indicum seeds showed the presence
of important phytochemical compounds in water seed extract viz,. Carbohydrates, proteins,
flavonoids, tannins, steroids, reducing sugar, cardiac glycosides, and volatile oil. Dot-blot and
DPPH staining were used to assess antioxidant activity. When compared to standard quercetin
at equal doses, water extract demonstrated excellent antioxidant activity.According to early
research, Abutilon indicum seed extract has a diverse phytochemical profile, a considerable
proximate composition, and high antioxidant activity
